Be a High School Senior, a Graduate or a College Student.
Be working part-time or not working at all.
Be able to work legally in the United States.
Have good command of the English language.
Have good command of the Spanish language.
Have some computer knowledge.

INFORMATION SESSION AND REGISTRATION :
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm or Saturdays at 11am
Please bring your Social Security Card, Maryland Drivers License or ID, and three paystubs if you work. Plus, proof that you are legally entitled to work in the United States or your U.S. Birth Certificate

*Taller EMPRESA como buscar trabajo para su negocio con el estado

Apreciados lectores de nuestra Newsletter. Tengo el gusto de informarles acerca del del taller EMPRESA para esos emprendedores y empresarios que quieran aprender como hacer crecer su negocio, y ganar contratos con el estado. Éste es el segundo de una serie de talleres presentados enteramente en español. 
 
Vamos a enseñar como registrarse para poder recibir propuestas para trabajos con el estado de Maryland y a hablar sobre estrategias para ganar contratos.  La fecha es Junio 14 del 2008, el lugar es Westfield Shoppingtown Wheaton, 11002 Viersmill Road, Edificio Sur, oficina 407 A y B, Wheaton, MD 20902.  El taller empieza a las 9am y termina a las 12pm. Se servirá un desayuno estilo continental, con café, jugos, y bagels etc.

From Northern Virginia:
Take 495 North. Exit Georgia Ave towards Wheaton (Not Silver Spring). Stay on Georgia Ave. until you see  Rt. 586 (Veirs Mill Road). Bear left on to Veirs Mill Road (Bally’s Fitness Center will be on your left). Make a left  at the first light, then take the very next left which is the Westfield Shoppingtown service road. You will pass Bally’s (on your left again) and MontgomeryWorks will be on your right, next to the movie theater in the Westfield South Office building. There is ample free parking.
 
From 270:
Take 270 South and merge onto 495 East. Exit Georgia Ave towards Wheaton (Not Silver Spring). Stay on Georgia Ave. until you see Rt. 586 (Veirs Mill Road). Bear left on to Veirs Mill Road (Bally’s Fitness Center will be on your left). Make a left  at the first light, then take the very next left which is the Westfield Shoppingtown service road. You will pass Bally’s (on your left again) and MontgomeryWorks will be on your right, next to the movie theater in the Westfield South Office building. There is ample free parking.
 
From The Metro:
Take the Red Line to Wheaton. Take the Wheaton Plaza exit. When you come out of the station there is a walk way which crosses over Veirs Mill Road and ends in the Westfield Shoppingtown plaza. Bear left (follow signs to Loews Movie Theater). We are located in the Wheaton Plaza South Office Building (name on top of building). Continue around the building.  MontgomeryWorks will be on your right, next to the movie theater in the Westfield South Office building.
 
From Baltimore:
Take 95 South and bear right onto 495 West, towards Silver Spring.  Exit Georgia Ave towards Wheaton (Not Silver Spring). Stay on Georgia Ave. until you see Rt. 586 (Veirs Mill Road). Musci Center at Strathmore

The State Symphony of Mexico, under the baton of music director Enrique Bátiz, premieres in Washington, D.C. at Strathmore. Founded in 1971, this orchestra has become a major force in modern Mexican culture, touring throughout their own country, the United States and Europe. The Symphony’s “beauty of sound, brilliant technique” (Salzburger Nachrichten) will come to life with works by Mexican and Spanish composers including Chavez, Turina and Moncayo. The performance will also feature soloist Alfonso Moreno on classical guitar.

Minority Contracting Fair

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Biopark and Congressman Elijah E. Cummings , 7th District, Maryland has planned a major minority contracting outreach for the third wet lab-scientific building to be erected on site. This event will be held at 801 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 at 8:00 am on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide up-to-date information on the project and to make you aware of procurement opportunities regarding the UMB Biopark, and other University of Maryland and non-University of Maryland projects in the area.
