Maryland governor si tax reform act of 2007 into law
The special session of the Maryland General Assembly ended on Monday,
November 19, 2007, and shortly thereafter Governor Martin O’Malley signed
into law six new pieces of legislation. Collectively, the legislation is expected
to levy nearly $1.3 billion in new taxes. The Tax Reform Act of 2007 (Senate
Bill 2) instituted one of the largest tax increases in Maryland history, and
carries important implications for individuals and businesses alike.
