Nancy Lilly

Nancy Lilly has known since college that she wanted to own and operate her own business feeling that she’s always had the leadership skills needed to run an organization. Mrs. Lilly enjoys empowering people and making them feel part of a team. Nancy refers to her employees as “her most valued investment”.

Nancy holds a MS in Engineering Administration from George Washington University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Puerto Rico Polytechnical University. Prior to launching JEM Engineering, Nancy worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for both Wang and Scope Laboratories in Northern Virginia. She later became a Lead Assessor for ISO certified by BSI. This knowledge and experience led her to work as a QA Manager for Racal and later working as an independent Quality Consultant.

Nancy started JEM Engineering in 2001 with just herself and husband, Jim, as the sole employees with one main contract. Since that time JEM has grown to 30 employees with dozens of contracts, increased revenues and markets and three additional buildings. Nancy’s drive, determination and passion for what she does have led to a steady 30% increase in revenue each year. The quality of the products and services provided by JEM combined with the dedication of their employees and the high level of customer satisfaction JEM demands all add to the company success and growth. Nancy expects the highest level of quality is currently working on the ISO Certification process for which JEM expects to be certified by March 2007.

Her proudest accomplishment is owning and running a company that maintains 100% employee and customer satisfaction and increasing sales from $250,000.00 in 2001 to over $3,000,000.00 for 2006 and projected revenues of $5,000,000.00 for 2007.

Nancy firmly believes in giving back to the community and brings these values into the work place by having the JEM Staff participate in food and clothing drives for local shelters, walks for the local pregnancy center, and on-going monetary contributions to these and other organizations as well. JEM also participates in an annual Toy for Tots drive at Christmas. She is also a foster parent in Montgomery County and has hosted over 23 children in her home over the past 4 years. The Lilly’s are a Christian family actively involved in their local church community and through their church they also actively support various other community outreach programs.
