RICHARD COLÓN
PRESIDENT & CEO, MACE ELECTRIC COMPANY
BALTIMORE, MD

Richard (Dick) Colón is the President, CEO and sole owner of Mace Electric Company, a contract organization with experience in all facets of electrical construction, including financial management, operations administration, project and labor management, contract management, estimating and design. How Mr. Colón acquired a near bankrupt, $700,000-debt-ridden Mace Electric Company with no down-payment and turned it around in six years to become a successful construction electric company has become part of the Baltimorean lore.

Mr. Colón started working as a electrical apprentice at age 15 for Sun State Electric in Florida and two years later moved to Baltimore and was hired by the Howard P. Foley Company where he started as an apprentice and in the span of 20 years became a journeyman, general foreman, and superintendent.

On December 1980 he joined the Pinter-Zwicker Electric Co., Inc. as a branch manager. He was then promoted to the Baltimore Operations responsible for overall operations including financial management, contract negotiations, labor and project management, engineering, design and estimating for an annual sales volume of 7 to 9 million dollars.

Mr. Colon is a long-standing member and Past President of the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
